Please join the Hart-Jacobsen family Saturday April 26th, 2025 for a performance of Brahms German Requiem. As Jan was progressing through a 10 year decline with dementia we searched for an appropriate way to celebrate her life. She was exposed to classical music as a young ballet student and continued a love of fine music, including opera throughout her life. The Brahms Requiem was our first choice as it also embodies Jan's passion and beauty along with a deep spirituality.
We have commissioned the Portland Choir and Orchestra to present the Requiem at two performances on Saturday April 26, 2025. The evening performance will be available to the group's regular subscribers. The afternoon performance, beginning at 2:00, will be primarily for Jan's friends and family.
We have been fortunate to engage the magnificent performance hall at the Patricia Reser Center in downtown Beaverton. The choir and orchestra will fill the stage. The performance will be about 1 1/4 hours without intermission. It will be followed by a reception in the beautiful Lobby of the Center at which her friends and family will have an opportunity to share memories of Jan.
